Their stories illustrate the important role each plays in delivering reliable, affordable and sustainable energy—and our commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion and collaboration. Building a strong support network benefits everyone, and that's the spirit that defines America's Energy Generation.
Helen Currie
Chief Economist
15 years at ConocoPhillips
Recently honored as one of Oil and Gas Investor's 25 Influential Women in Energy, Helen is not only ConocoPhillips' chief economist, but a leader and mentor to her colleagues at work and throughout the energy industry. In her current role, Helen works to position the company for success by anticipating market moves and trends as early as possible. She also serves on the executive advisory board of the College of Business at Mississippi State University.
In her free time, Helen enjoys bicycling and running and can often be found riding through the Colorado mountains.
"My advice to other women in the industry is to, first and foremost, learn something from every experience you're in – whether it is positive or negative. Look around and find something positive to take away with you for tomorrow."

Brenda Erickson
Director, Supplier Diversity
30 years at ConocoPhillips
Brenda joined ConocoPhillips in 1988. As a corporate supply chain director, she is responsible for sourcing and administering millions of dollars in contracts for various business groups within the company.
Brenda has mentored more than 100 colleagues through their careers at ConocoPhillips, and through the Women's Business Enterprise Alliance, she's helped many entrepreneurs build careers in business. Brenda was recently recognized among the Top 30 Influential Women in Houston.
"If you are invited to the conference table, you are invited to speak. Huge strides have been made to help women have the opportunities to compete, so they can win. Get in front of people so the voice of your business can be heard."

Melody Bechberger
Staff Geologist
8 years at ConocoPhillips
Mel is staff geologist in Lower 48 Exploration Appraisal and has served as a working project team lead. Through ConocoPhillips' Women's Network, she has worked to build a sense of community. Her initiatives include "Ladies Who Lunch," a monthly get-together that is "social, spontaneous, personal and professional." The program allows women the opportunity to get together, network and share their stories to build strong relationships.
In addition to her work on behalf of the Women's Network, Mel also leads a STEM workshop for children, helping to inspire the next generation of engineers, scientists and technicians who will continue America's role as an energy leader.
"We help women who may not have much exposure share their capabilities and projects with a broader audience. The friendly, low-pressure environment is perfect for someone looking for her next career move."

Misty Alexa
Manager, North Slope Development
20 years at ConocoPhillips
Misty is currently manager of North Slope Development and previously oversaw ConocoPhillips' operations on the North Slope. She went to school to study law, but quickly found that her calling was in math and science. Misty focuses on how to safely and responsibly develop Alaska's energy resources. Safety is a central tenet of the industry's development process, and Misty helps ensure that priority is executed in the field.
“In my previous job managing operations on the North Slope and in my current role, I interact with people a lot day in and day out. It’s a diverse group of people that are constantly solving problems and always thinking of great new ways of doing things. It’s just a really great group of people that I enjoy working with.”

In 2018, ConocoPhillips employees Tameka Ramsey, Erin Reuber and Lindsay Alaniz were recognized as "difference makers" in the energy industry during Pink Petro's 2018 inaugural GRIT Awards. Tameka, global compliance and ethics manager, won a GRIT Award, while Erin and Lindsay were named as finalists.
